What Christians Believe
We hope you enjoyed our podcast episode “Making Asians Great Again”, which was the first of our two-parter on faith, and delved into some of the unique aspects of the experience of faith in Asia.
In our latest episode (and the final episode for our first season), we take a more systematic approach to faith, and revisit a theme that might be familiar with regular readers of the blog. This is the notion that faith is a response to an event. While this might seem like a simple and even obvious premise, we (and I include myself here) easily forget this fundamental fact, and end up treating the faith like something that we construct.
More to the point, we treat the faith like a construct that we create in isolation. Another familiar theme readers might hear touched upon in the episode is the notion that faith is not just a response to an event, but a communal response to an event. This then makes the notion of the Church’s faith as more fundamental than my personal confession.
Daniel and I then cover a lot of ground around these two anchor points, and we hope you get something a bit more than my mere repetition of the above motifs.
Following this episode drop, we will take a short break while we organise our episode drops for the new season in July. In the meantime, follow us on our facebook page and also on instagram for further podcast related updates. In the meantime, if you have not yet listened to all our episodes in season 1, now might be the ideal time to revisit the season just passed.
On another note, as I will be on the road both here in Australia and overseas the next few weeks, we will also take a short break here on the blog and we will resume regular posting starting in late July. You can also follow the blog’s facebook page and instagram for blog related updates.
